Senator Bob Casey Visits All-State Career School in West Mifflin, PA

<p>West Mifflin, PA – July 12, 2024 – Senator Bob Casey visited the All-State Career School in West Mifflin in Pittsburgh area on Friday, July 12th, where he met with campus leadership, local employers, and successful graduates from the truck driver training program. The visit highlighted the importance of vocational education and the critical role that skilled commercial truck drivers play in our nation's economy.</p> <p>During his visit, Senator Casey engaged with the school's leadership team to discuss the current state of vocational training and the significant contributions of the All-State Career School to the local community. The discussion emphasized the importance of supporting educational institutions that equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in in-demand industries.<br> </p> <p>“I wanted the Senator to see what we do here matters, and who it matters to – our student, who’s looking to change their life, to get a career, to support their family,” said Campus President, Heather Powell. “But I wanted him to also see how our programs and our graduates impact the industry and the employers who hire those students, and how needed they are,” she added.<br> </p> <p>Senator Casey also met with key employer partners, including representatives from Waste Management, PGT Trucking and Schneider. These companies collaborate with All-State Career School to provide graduate employment services and opportunities for graduates. These partnerships are essential in helping graduates make the transition smoothly from education to employment, helping to fulfill the demand for qualified truck drivers in Pennsylvania and beyond.</p> <p>“It felt amazing to have Senator Casey and his team here today just to see what we do on a daily basis to change people’s lives,” said Stephanie Sedar, Associate Campus President for All-State West Mifflin. She added, “We do a lot of great things here at All-State Career School, and that’s why I think Senator Bob Casey is taking notice.”</p> <p>The highlight of the visit was Senator Casey's interaction with graduates of the truck driver training program. Several individuals shared their success stories and discussed how the comprehensive training they received at All-State Career School helped them secure stable, rewarding positions in the transportation industry. Their achievements are a testament to the quality of training and overall student support provided by All-State.</p> <p>“I had no experience driving a truck, and I was a little intimidated at first,” said Nicole Hickman, a recent Class A CDL graduate. “My instructors went out of their way to build my confidence in and around the truck. And because I am a foster mom, they are also helping me to connect with great local job opportunities right here in Pittsburgh.” </p> <p>Senator Casey's visit reaffirms his commitment to supporting educational initiatives that address workforce needs and promote economic growth. All-State Career Schools are happy to participate in the American Dental Association’s Give Kids A Smile® Program

<p>Each year approximately 6,500 dentists and 30,000 dental team members volunteer at local GKAS events to provide free oral health education, screenings, preventive and restorative treatment to over 300,000 children. GKAS events kick off annually on the first Friday in February, which is Give Kids A Smile Day. GKAS events are held throughout the year. All-State Career School in Essington Launches Dental Hygiene Program

To prepare for the program, the campus enlarged its floor plan to include an expansive dental clinic, offering clinical experience to students and preventative dental care to patients.
